- Character Notes -

Shorin was one of the greates sword elf's that were raised out of the Hullack Forest. He even eargerly agreed to help out during the Mage War when the battles came close to home. There were elves of the forest who were angry at the humans for starting such a war and lashed out at them with raids and a pet green dragon. Shorin was one of the main figures in taking down some of these bandit elves and it never sat right with him that he had to kill his own kind. Though he knew it was right since those elves were hurting innocents as well as combatants. During the apex of the War he left for Ceartree, which was then part of the front lines, since it was the closest kingdom to the Hullack.

It was until after the Mage War during the times that followed after it that Shorin was really needed. He met up with Charisma when the Hullacks was once again threatened by a dragon, this one uncontrolled and on a rampage. Shorin fell in love with Charisma's beauty and power at that time and traveled along with her through and near the forest protecting the people from bandits, thieves, and monsters. Shorin felt invincible as he took down bad guy after bad guy until he met something that gave him trouble, a nine-headed fire hydra. He thought that he was comming to the rescue of some humans when they released this beast on him trying to take him down. Losing the use of his arms during the battle he stood up off of the ground with his knife cletched between his teeth and charged at the hydra. He needed much healing after his victory and he became forever scarred by magic on the upper reaches of his arms. Because of the humans betrayal Shorin became xenophobic from the outside not trusting humans or dwarves any more. Although his feelings for Charisma haven't changed over the years they grew separate after that inncodent which is why he guessed Charisma did what she did but he still doesn't understand why. For over the past twenty five years Shorin began to study under the master monks of the Hullack elves. The village's elders figured that the disclipline and hand-to-hand combat training would be the best use of Shorin.

There had been such an increase in the number of demon sightings around the Hullack that it had been worrying Shorin more as of late. He walked into the largest structure in the Hullack Elves City through the large double oak doors that were being held by the guards of the Senate. Shorin had been in their presence many times because of all of the missions they assigned to him but this time seemed different because they actually sounded scared when they talked to him. The eleven elders told Shorin that there had been more encounters with demons around the areas where the Gates are in the forest. That was why they now restricted travel through them and had theirs placed on its side so nothing could walk through it. They needed Shorin to check out a couple of hot spots and deal with the problems and then to check out the increase of humans activity in the forest. Shorin took some of the best elven solders along with him to help deal with the scattered areas of demon activity. It was lucky for them that they were all of the lesser variaties and small in numbers so they were able to deal with them. Shorin then decided to return all the soldiers back home before he went out to scout along. They were in sight of the city when a bright flash blinded them and a concusive force threw them off their feet and onto the ground. It was horrible because the city was no more like it was never there to begin with. Shorin was able to find a small group of humans who were the ones responsible namely their leader Micheal. Shorin left everyone else behind as he followed Micheal to his home base. The other elves search around for survivors and took any that they found to the southern boarder tree fort. Shorin came back to help more the only thing that survived, the Gate, to their new temporary village. What numbered in the thousands now was only a few hundred Hullack elves left alive. Shorin vowed that he had to take revenge but since he was the most senior he had to make sure that his family (all the elves left alive) would be safe and secure.

When he saw some humans not that far away from their new village heading directly towards it he took a few soldiers to surprise them. Using their sleeping device they were suprise that three of the five were still standing and thought that they had just rescued some prisoners. Shorin jumped out of the trees last and when he approached he was suprised that Charisma was in this group. He took them all back to the tree tops to their new village so he could explain to Charisma that some humans had destroyed the city. When Charisma heard how it happened she told Shorin that they were looking for a man named Micheal who had power like that. Figures, thought Shorin that humans would do something like that but told Charisma that she and her 'friends' could stay overnight and in the morning he'll show her where Micheal is located. Clive then said that he saw a light and as Shorin looked out the window he saw a blue glow coming from where they placed the Gate. Once he saw the darkess hiding the light from the fire beetles he knew something bad was going to happen. He needed someone strong and trust worthy and grabed Charisma's hand as he ran out the door. Crossing the ropebridge a swarm of Skriglings flew past cutting the center area dropping both sides. Shorin and Charisma held on tight as they slammed against the tree and climbed back up. As least they were on the correct side so Shorin continued on to the Gate room.

There were hundreds of Skriglings swarming around the south-eastern area making Shorin and Charisma fight their way through. Charisma launched arrow after arrow taken down the ones that were flying higher up while Shorin beat down any that approached as they assended the stairs to the Gate room. Charisma gave cover fire as Shorin and that human that followed them lowered their Gates cover stone so they would stop any more from entering. Right before it was capped off a half dozen Skrags flew out. These were dangerous ones and Shorin knew it because they could take away ones strength. There were still some hundred skriglings in the room that they were taking down while trying to avoid the Skrag. Charisma did most of the damage since she didn't have to approach it which only seemed to make it more angry. Shorin saw the beast charge directly at Charisma and knew that although the creature could pass through his body and still hurt Charisma it couldn't pass through magik. Shorin ran in and extended his arm just in time to stop the Skrag just a foot from Charisma's head. With his other hand he used his fist to take it down with one final hit.

After everyone of the elves was tended to Clive and Elly approached Shorin with a question. Shorin didn't think to highly of Clive not only because he was a part of Charisma but also because he looked like he did. Human ears that looked like any other and the little boy knew nothing about the truth. When Shorin heard that they wanted to get a traditional elven marriage he almost thought it a joke but was soon to discover that they were serious. "I guess that there is hope for this child," he thought to himself as he agreed. Shorin had the wedding to also commemorate the fallen with something that would bring joy to everyone. As he saw Charisma walk off with them he wanted so much to join her but had other responsibilities that were right now more important. Having all of the elves pack up all of their possesions Shorin had them all relocate to a safer location. Once he had everyone safely protected he would be able to go and help Charisma. When Shorin was the flash and heard the explosion he thought that they arrived to late because they were still a day out. Shorin was very happy to see that Charisma and even Clive, Elly, and the rest were safe. He offered to lead them out of the forest to the closest human city so they could get back to where ever they needed to go. Charisma then told Shorin that she would be comming along with him because she knew that he had a tough job ahead of him and the fact she felt sort of responsible for not taking out Micheal earlier.
