Chapter 1
"An unknown message; a mysterous friend"
page 1 'Orcs in Ruins' part 1 of 3

After the party heard the mission plan from Profit they gathered all of their items and met outside of Harfein. The mission is simple, it's a scouting mission to assay lands and probe governments and this party is heading toward Pax Tharkas which is only about a ten day travel west.

The PCs left, covering their trail for a day, and didn't encounter any dangers until near dusk around the 3rd day. A woman was being chased by two orcs, whom Enutrof Stormscape (played by Ricky) slaughtered with only three arrows. Litathanked them and asked them to help her brother and father. The PCs were all well and good to free the prisoners with Cade Hedgger (played by Stan) sneaking up to cut the robes. But they were betrayed Orcs ran out from some trees and Myr Laquatus (played by Mac) was attacked by Lita. The PCs were outnumbered and retreated, Myr's mount created dust to mask that Cade and Enutrof hide to get a back attack on the persuers.

Unfortunitally they had more of a back up that Lita brought so Cade and Enutrof stayed hidden while they all chased Myr, who continued to ride his horse (Mac then had to leave for work). Cade and Enutrof returned to where the 'prisoners' were and found an 4 Orc scout party whom they weren't able to kill off before they alerted more with their horn.

They ran and met back up with Myr who told them of a place he saw that they might be able to hide at, some ruined buildings near a cliff. They retreated there but were able to be tracked by the Orcs. Each PC hide in a building, Cade saw a man dressed in white robes on one of the roofs, who was only watching. the Orcs surrounded them and slowly moved in with fire. The PCs retreated to two doors that were in the face of the mountain thanks to Dio Elaclaire, the robed man.

The PCs searched around the area with Stan leading everyone down into the basement. An underground river destroyed most of the rooms, while they walked around Dio stayed to the back only making defensive moves. The PCs became interested in a cold room with rotten meat, they were attacked by giant roaches.
