Chapter 2
"A Cancerous Secret"

Where we last left of the PCs they were standing in from of Innsters re-aquired mansion with goblins piled up under their feet. Myr and Cade were severly hurt while Clive and Celine were barely holding their own and Enutrof was running out of Arrows. That was when four of the remaining Hobgoblins kicked the doors of the mansion open to make their entrance.

The Hobgoblins rushed in throwing javalins before entering melee with their longswords. Clive and Celine took out one of the Hobs after both suffering some wounds. One of the Hobs tried to take out Enutrof but instead broke his sword on a rock. The Hobgoblins, although able to take more damage then the goblins, were not too difficult to take down. Whether to attack Innster in his mansion now or later was made; the party had no choice but to take down the head of this problem NOW.

Although Innster was inside standing high above on the overlooking second floor balcony he ordered the party to leave because they were making such a rukus. But Myr wouldn't have that, instead of listening to his boring speach Myr let loose two volleys of Magic Missiles. This confirmed Innsters beliefs that the party in front of him was his invisible enemies. Wanting to test out his skills in creating creatures with automail enchancements he sent his three goblinmails after them, the only three that were still alive. The Goblinmails were making short work of the PCs taking them out with Myr and Cade dropping first.

For the first time Clive saw the battle going against him and told Elly to get his weapon that she had been keeping safe for him since they separated. The lengthy items unwrapped as it flew through the air from Elly towards Clives hands. He rested the metal pole with wood inlays upon his shoulders sighting down the length of the pole and aiming at one of the Goblinmails he pulled the trigger releasing the hammer that fell upon the Atmose powder pan causing smoke to spontanously erupt, along with a loud noise, around Clive sending a small metal bullet from the barrel. The Bullet combusted into flames as if enchanced by magic and impalled with the goblinmail's chest sending it skidding accross the ground, dead. The other goblinmails continued the assault while Clive reloaded. He knew that he was the only thing standing between these creatures and Elly so Clive released bullet after bullet until he was able to take down the goblinmails.

Innster had since left the battle to continue his work to perfect his procedure of fusing the mail with his newly found source of flesh, the goblins. The party healed as best as they could and sent Cade into the back room to sneak up on Innster, who was working in his so called lab. Innster was getting angry at his failed progress and started taking his anger out on his machines with a large wrench and his foot too. Cade stayed back until some of those hits started a fire that spread to all of the flamibles in the room. Then Cade jumped up on Innster's back and threatened him with a javalin. Innster grappled Cade by the head throwing him accross the room and then took Clive out with his last acid arrow. The fire spread to more of the room and mansion and the party retreated, except for Myr who wanted to ask one final question to Innster who jumped through the flames and stood in front of him. Innster pulled Myr's hood back to see his face and didn't belive Myr's bluff about him working with Krass. So Innster brought down a mace upon Myr's head hurting him severly, but Myr was able to just get out of the room and collapse. Cade and Enutrof looked up to see Innster walk through the door. They were able to take Innster down but had to retreat because of the now large engulfing fire. Elly and Celine helped take Clive and Myr's bodies out before the whole place was engulfed.

On their way back to the abandoned building the party found out, to their surprise, that the townsfolk were all outside because a group of Crimson Knights were in town. Just the night before when the party released all of the Hobgoblins prisoners one of them was able to escape and ran north. He told the Knights what was happening and they came right down and just finished routing out the last of the goblins. The Captain of those knights thanked the party and gave them back all of their stolen belonings along with the Hobgoblins treasure.

Celine inquired to the captain about her joining the Crimson Knights and he told her to talk to his commander, Kevrin, who was camped up north. Elly was keeping watch over Clive in the abandoned building because of the wounds he sustained in the past couple of days. Cade, Enutrof, and Myr were thanked by the townsfolk and they were given three horses, two of which were already theirs. After Clive woke he told them that he heard of a court mage up in Port Drake by the name of Vichorn. It was decided that with their only lead to The Factory just went up in smoke that seeing if they could find this Vichorn was their only choice.
